Mas de ollanta y SVH

En mi ultimo blog yo hablé sobre jueves, viernes y sábado.  Eran un poco difíciles pero no sorprendentes.  No te preocupes, no estoy decepcionado o desanimado.  Este es lo que yo esperé.

Yo voy a continuar este cuento.

Domingo fue un dia muy bueno.  En Ollanta hay mucho ONGs (NGOs), y mi organización (Sacred Valle y Health, or Ayni Wasí) tiene un relación muy fuerte con un otro se llama Awamaki.  También, Ollanta tiene mucho cafes.  Mi jefe estaba la dueña de una se llama "La Esquina" hasta hace 2 meses, cuando ella lo vendió a algunos voluntarios a largo plazo de Awamaki.  Entonces los voluntarios de los dos organizaciones usan este cafe mucho.

El domingo yo me quedé en La esquina desde 10 hasta 7.  En este tiempo yo pude conocer muchos de los otros voluntarios y conocer muchos nuevos amigos.  Por ejemplo.  Los dueños de la Esquina ahora son Reading, Chet, y Krissa.  Ya estoy compartiendo recetas con ellos y vamos a hacer un club de correr.  :)

La semanas siguiente empecé con un grande reunión hasta la una para introducir todo los nuevos voluntarios (hubo 3) a SVH.  Después, hicimos un horario.

A mi me encanto este horario.  Yo estaba en varios comunidades cada día.  :)

Martes fui a huilloc, miércoles a yanamayo, jueves a pampallacta, y viernes a patacancha.

En Huilloc nosotros tuvimos 3 metas: a) hablar con las promotoras sobre sus presentaciones en la asamblea general.  b) encontrar el presidente para pedir tiempo durante la asamblea general para presentar algo (quisiéramos que las promotoras presentarán sus nuevos habilidades).  c) hablar con el director de la escuela sobre una campaña medical con los niños.

Pues, entre las tres promotoras, no encontramos 2 y la ultima acaba de dar la luz entonces no puede presentar nada.  Además, no encontramos el presidente, ni el vice presidente ni el secretario.  Pero tuvimos éxito con las escuelas y ahora ellos están muy emocionado a tener este campaña.  :)

Yanamayo era un experiencia increíble.  Es un comunidad muy muy lejos y asistimos la asamblea general.  A mi me encanta las asambleas general - es un ejemplo que un comunidad fuerte es integral a la gente.  Yo quiero vivir en un comunidad con asambleas general.

Viernes yo fui a un otro asamblea general en patacancha.  Este día era muy importante porque patacancha es uno de mis comunidades.  Yo me presenté y tuve un aplauso muy fuerte.  :).

Después la asamblea yo me reuní con Miguel para empezar un trek de dos días a los aguas termales de lares.  Hay un otro blog con fotos y descripciones que voy a publicar luego, pero es suficiente a decir que a mi me encante donde yo vivo.  :).

Y este era mi primera semana completa con SVH.  Estoy contento y feliz.

La vida es buena.

More about Ollanta and SVH

In my last blog I spoke about Thursday, Friday and Saturday. They were a little difficult but not surprising. Do not worry, I'm not disappointed or discouraged. This is what I expected.

I will continue this story.

Sunday was a very good day. In Ollanta there are many NGOs, and my organization (Sacred Valley and Health, or Ayni WASI) has a strong relationship with one other called Awamaki. Also, Ollanta has plenty cafes. My boss was the owner of one called "La Esquina" until two months ago, when she sold it to some long-term volunteers Awamaki. Therefore the volunteers of both organizations use this cafe a lot.

On Sunday I stayed around La Esquina from 10-7. During this time I got to know many of the other volunteers and met many new friends. For example. The owners of La Esquina now are Reading, Chet, and Krissa. I'm sharing recipes with them and we will make a running club. :)

The following week started with a large meeting until one oclock to introduce all the new volunteers (there were 3) to SVH. Then we made a schedule.

I loved this schedule. I was in various communities every day. :)

Tuesday I went to Huilloc, Wednesday Yanamayo, Pampallacta on Thursday and spent Friday in Patacancha.

In Huilloc we had three goals: a) talk to the promatoras about their presentations at the general meeting. b) find the presidents to ask for time during the general assembly to present something (we want the promotoras to present their new skills). c) talk to the principal of the school about a medical campaign with children.

Well, among the three promoters, we did not find the two of them and the last one just gave birth so could not present anything. Moreover, we did not find the president nor the vice president nor the secretary. But we were successful with the schools and now they are very excited to have this campaign. :)

Yanamayo was an amazing experience. This community is a very long way away and we attended the general assembly. I love the general meetings - is an example that a strong community is integral to the people. I want to live in a community with general meetings.

Friday I went to another general assembly Patacancha. This day was very important because Patacancha is one of my communities. I introduced myself and had a very strong applause. :).

After the meeting I met with Michael to start a two-day trek to the hot springs of Lares. There is another blog with photos and descriptions that I'll post later, but suffice to say that I really love it where I live. :)

And this was my first full week with SVH. I'm glad and happy.
